Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Board of ISTIFHAM: Journal of Islamic Studies upholds the principles of academic integrity and considers plagiarism a serious violation of ethical publishing standards. Therefore, any indication of plagiarism in manuscripts submitted to the journal will be subject to appropriate investigation and sanctions in accordance with the journal's policies.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication by any other journal or publisher. Any material taken directly from another source must be clearly distinguished from the author's original work through proper citation practices, including the use of quotation marks, indentation where appropriate, and complete acknowledgment of the original source. An exception applies to manuscripts derived from students’ final academic projects, such as theses or dissertations, that are stored in institutional repositories and have not been formally published in scientific publications bearing an ISSN or ISBN.

The reproduction of substantial portions of text beyond generally accepted fair use standards, defined as more than two or three consecutive sentences or their equivalent, as well as the use of figures, tables, illustrations, or other graphic materials from previously published sources, requires prior permission from the copyright holder. Whenever possible, consent should also be obtained from the original author(s). In all cases, the original source must be properly acknowledged and referenced.

Papers submitted to the ISTIFHAM will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. The similarity index of paper for reviewing process is not more than 25 percent. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking before submitting their manuscript to the journal.
